黑料不打烊 Career Services held a job fair on Sept. 16 in the McCarthy Forum, which hosted over 25 local employers.

The fair included part-time and full-time, as well as on-campus job opportunities. 黑料不打烊 offices such as Athletics, the Center for Early Childhood Education, Center for Student Experience and Career Development, and more were present at the fair.

The 黑料不打烊 Financial Aid Office was also tabled at the event to help answer students鈥 questions about work study.

Freshman Kelly O鈥橞rien said she had job experience at a daycare and attended the job fair to learn more about the Center for Early Childhood Education.

Among the offices from 黑料不打烊, employers from the MetroWest area included Massachusetts State Police, Chick-Fil-A, SNL Youth Academy, and The New England Center for Children.

Hipstitch, a sewing and crafts studio based out of Arlington, Brookline, Newton, and Wellesley, was tabled at the job fair, as well. They were looking for new 鈥渃reatives鈥 to teach their classes, according to their flyers.

Advocates, a nonprofit human services agency based in Framingham, was also in attendance. Cecilia Gutierrez, a recruiter at Advocates, said, 鈥淲e have a lot of direct care positions that are entry-level that some students could pick up part-time while they鈥檙e in school.鈥

She added that the agency was a good opportunity for clinical psychology students, especially once they graduate.

On the stage of the forum, 鈥淒ress for Success鈥 was set up for students to visit. This program provides students with free professional clothing, shoes, and accessories in order to help prepare them for interviews and work experience.

Student Coordinator of Dress for Success Priscilla Bonilla said they receive free donations of clothing often, so tabling at the job fair is a great opportunity to reach more students.

鈥淲e always want to prepare students, even if they鈥檙e freshman,鈥 said Bonilla. 鈥淎nd it feels like a TJ Maxx.鈥

Ollie Mainguy, a junior, said she found a blazer from 鈥淒ress for Success鈥 in 鈥減ristine condition鈥 that she planned to wear to her next job interview.

鈥淗aving somewhere to go on campus to find such nice clothes is so, so helpful. This would鈥檝e cost me fifty bucks from Macy鈥檚.鈥

In addition to the blazer, Mainguy said she picked up eight different business cards from tables around the job fair.

鈥淭he job fair is a great way to build new connections and get new contacts,鈥 she added.
